Journal Entries for Spanish Class (redirected from journal entries for spanish class)

Page history last edited by Nicole Fannoney 12 years, 3 months ago

Journal Reflections:  Students must find a way to apply their Spanish outside of the school setting and write a reflection about it.  Be sure that reflections are neat and formatted in a Type 3 John Collins Format (Name and Date in Right Corner, FCA's in the upper Left, and a Title for your assignment).   Some suggestions for using Spanish outside of school might be to label things at home in Spanish, read a newspaper from a Spanish Speaking Country, find a  song in Spanish and figure out the lyrics, or have a conversation with a native speaker.  Another suggestion is to participate in the blog that the eighth grade is working on with the Peterson School in Mexico City and then write the reflection on what you learned about Mexican culture and how it helped you learn to use your Spanish.

Requirements: FCA's

Completion: (60 points)

The length of  the reflection should be enough to describe what you did, what you learned, and a brief opinion of what you thought about your activity (minimum of 1 page typed/ 2 pages hand written).

Quality: (25 points)

Students should include evidence of what they learned during the activity.  This could be new phrases, vocabulary, and or cultural information about a Spanish speaking country.

Students must show evidence of learning in Spanish and English.  They must have a list of a minimum of 5 new things that they learned through the activity. Each new piece of information is worth 5 points.

John Collins Format (15 points):  The paper must be neat, with your full name in the upper right corner, and the FCA's in the left hand corner. Reflections should be typed or written neatly on white lined standard paper.  Typed papers should be a minimum of 1 page 12 font, double spaced.  Hand written papers  should be a minimum of two pages.

Journal Reflection Due Dates:
